The God of Small Things revolves around the life of an Indian family and how it changed significantly upon the arrival of two relatives from England. The prose is appealingly literary, the tone dark, and the plot sad, tragic, haunting, and soulful. After reading the last sentence, I only set the book down for a few minutes then started again from the beginning. It is a story so completely told, yet I could not get enough.
Oh, the jewels I find in book sales.
